Turn Back the Clock

We started the season by beating Time (Miller Time, of course).

Since then we have been getting our clocks cleaned and have been hard to watch.

After five straight losses, it was like we turned back the clock to our inaugural 2008 season when we lost almost every game.

So far this season we spring forward and win all the 6:45pm games and fall back and lose all the 7:45pm and 8:45pm games.

So all we really needed was to find our zone - a time zone.

On Tuesday, we had a 6:45pm game against SlaughterHouse 9.  With the early game, we knew time would be on our side and the pendulum would swing our way.

Like clockwork, we won 10-4.

First and Second Innings

Both teams tried to get an early start but no runs scored.

Third Inning

SH9 had a couple of hits but went scoreless.

In the bottom of the third inning, Rads led off with a single followed by another from Fort.  Martini tripled down the right field line scoring Jimmy (running for an injured Rads) and Fort.  JD hit a hard grounder scoring Martini.  Strong Coffey walloped a single but we couldn’t get him in.

Cougars up 3-0.

Fourth Inning

SH9 scored a lone run in the top of the fourth inning.

The Cougars scored two more in the bottom of four.  Philthy and Bobi went for back to back singles.  With men on first and second, Flandog crushed a line shot into right field scoring Philthy.  Jimmy singled to load the bases up for Rads who poked a single up the middle scoring Bobi.  Two runs for the Cougars.

Cougars up 5-1.

Fifth Inning

Slaughterhouse was crushing the ball, put a scare into us and scored three.

We turned our fright into might and scored five.  JD laced a liner to left and Strong Coffey punched the ball for a single moving JD to third.  Li’l Rads hit a hard grounder to short and with some fancy footwork JD head faked towards home catching the shortstop’s attention to give Li’l Rads time to make it to first base safely.  Philthy hit a sacrifice fly RBI scoring JD.  Bobi unleashed a double to left center scoring Strong Coffey and moving Li’l Rads to third.  Baby Kale hit a ball that found a hole in the defense to score Bobi and Li’l Rads for two RBI.  The mighty Flandog got his second RBI of the night with a single to center scoring Baby Kale all the way from first base.

Cougars up 10-4.

Sixth Inning

No runs for either team.

On defense, the Cougars were led by Li’l Rads who was saving his infield brethren by catching every ball, even some that were one-handed!

Seventh Inning

We held them scoreless to get our second victory of the year and we strutted like Morris Day.
