A Croppy Game

We have all consumed too much time obsessing over our profile pictures on Facebook and other social media sites.  C’mon, admit it.  We all want to present our best self.

There are certain tips for your finest appearance so that you convey happiness and confidence.  Experts say that you should be captured doing something you love, take it easy on the lighting (the one time you want to be dim) and keep the focus on you while blotting out all other reality.

Sometimes your optimum image is found a in a group shot with friends or family.  But really, how can you fit that whole picture in a thumbnail?  And honestly, you really want the focus to be on you.

So what do you do?  That’s right, blot out all other reality.  It’s time to start cropping.

My favorite profile pics are the ones that have a portion of someone else’s face hovering just off to the side, maybe a shoulder or a few stray strands of hair sneaking into the shot.

Their friends literally did not make the cut.  Are they offended?  What is the protocol here?

The blog recap is pretty much about cropping out the bad stuff.  We only focus on the good.  You know, blotting some reality.

The reality on Tuesday is that we lost to Templeton Rye 8-7.  The Cougars played quite a nice game but just came up a bit short.  As always, everybody made the highlight reel.

  • Melchiorre pitched a heck of a game and had a clutch single in the last inning.

  • Flannery also had a clutch hit in the last inning.  He also made a sweet catch at the plate to get a key bases loaded force out.

  • Danielsen grabbed all of our off the mark throws at 1B and had a couple RBIs with his rips to the outfield.

  • Bobis pounded the ball at the dish and made play after play at 2B.

  • Lipinski covered short center with ease (the hardest position in my opinion) and clobbered the ball at bat.

  • Watrous was a Hoover vacuum at shortstop and made a Jeter-like play to get a force out at second base while crushing the ball at the plate.
  • Kirchberg continues to put on a clinic at third base and is applying for a patent for his tomahawk chop at the dish.

  • Radtke, Fortier and Lipsey all played similar games.  Each made plays in the outfield, each had some hits and scored some runs.  Who is healthiest will decide the difference.

There was nothing to crop from the Fortier postgame.  Although the before and after pictures are very different as the kids and parents devoured the feast all night.

The Cougars know how to have fun.  We always turn a crappy game into a croppy game.
