First Date, First Kiss

This opening day our cheeks were kissed by the sun and we returned the gift with a gem on the diamond.

The Cougars didn't mail this game in.  No sirree!  Our envelope was S.W.A.K.

With opening night butterflies and springtime cheerful optimism, we played crosstown rival Doublecross and embraced a 9-7 victory, our first ever on an opening night.

The Cougars stepped into the batter's box like it was a kissing booth and we planted big 'ol wet ones on the ball.

We had some Kissing Kings last night!  Martin and Danielsen each smacked the ball and touched 'em all to lead the team in quadruples while Hoglund and Fortier both had crushes on the Clincher and quarreled for the RBI crown.

We flirted with disaster allowing four scores in the last inning, which pulled Doublecross to within two runs, threatening to steal our date with victory.  In the end, victory couldn't be swayed and she ended her evening with us.

Our only regret was that Morganna, The Kissing Bandit, was not there to celebrate with us.

The biggest smooches are always reserved for our fans.  Here's a look at those who cheered us on last night.

After the game, we pranced hand in hand to the Legion Hall to celebrate the big five-OH for Jimmy along with the Chicken Shack.

Matching the Shack's team color, the Cougars honored Jimmy with a couple bottles of red (oh, if only the vineyards made green wine!).

Join us next week as we plan to make out once again!

  1. so glad you won the opener as those teams who did not, are no longer serving beer...as "they lost the "opener"
